Promontory Point

We have a great view of Promontary Point from our apartment along Lake Shore Dr. More pics later of the rest of our view including most of Hyde Park and even a bit of downtown. I'm playing around with a product that Google acquired called Picasa.

There is a small picture of Regents Park (the twin apartment buildings) from Promontory Point from this Point site.

Also, check out the history of Lake Shore Drive from the City's site.

Maybe it's just me, but those pictures are bleeding (read overlapping) into the menu pretty badly. I'm using Firefox.

I got the same bleeding effect too and then realized the blog's minimum viewable resolution is 1280x1024. Jeremy probably doesn't realize this when viewing on his phatty IBM laptop.

Ok, sorry...you're right though I didn't realize I had a problem. I'm using Firefox and IE (for posting) so I check both of them but obviously I knew nothing about the resolution bit...any solutions?

One option is to just say to hell with the people with wussy screen resolution. Another is to adjust the size of the pictures you post so that the minimum size of the site is somewhat smaller (less than 1024x768 probably isn't necessary, unless old people read this site). Yet another is to just post small thumbnails or picture excerpts that are popup links or straight links to the full pictures. You could always change the css to have a minium width, and resize at anything above that.

Yes, I used to do the small thumbnails with links to the larger pictures, but I got tired of that and found it a bit more time consuming. I guess I'm just lazy...but I should do that more to not take up as much space in the entries.
