Google Searches

Anyone else periodically check their rankings in Google searches? Just curious... I know Google plays with the algos so it definitely flucuates.

Yep, for most of my app-specific keywords, I'm in the top 3.

For my general keywords, I'm barely in the top 100.

I'll be working on some stuff to improve that shortly.

Hi Jeremy,
I googled Mennonite blog today and came up with you at the top of the list. :-) Your mom was my piano teacher 35-40 years ago. Your aunt Anita was my best friend all the way through grade school, and we are still friends. I remember when her family went to your wedding a few years ago. The internet has shrunk the world.
It sounds like you are leading a full life.
Best wishes,

Julana,

Hi! Thanks for the comment...I tend to a get many commentless visitors. :) And I'm glad the Google results are still holding up. I didn't expect it, but it's nice. Anita is awesome - remembers every birthday and anniversary in the family. It was really special to have them at the wedding. Being in school is definitely fun and a challenge.
Blessings!

Jeremy

Re commenters- I find scanning blogs (on the info highway) similar to driving through Holmes County looking at Amish laundry handing along the clotheslines. Alternatively, it's like driving past garage sale signs here in the central Ohio area. They're interesting clues to people's lives, but don't often lead to chatting.
Maybe the bloggers themselves find it more like dropping a baited line in the water, trolling across the water for comments. Not sure.

Good point on the commenters - I generally don't get a lot of comments - mostly because applicants to MBA programs prefer to remain anonymous and I tend not to post very controversial. I actually don't mind, since many of the sites that have a lot of commenters tend to spiral into arguments. One of my friends had a lot more comments on his blog because it was a mini-community of friends.
