Last Friday I had the chance to attend an XBOX 360 presentation as part of Microsoft's Breakfast Series. Most of the Breakfast Series don't have 1400 people attending, so this one had a lot of extra energy. Multiple times I let go an audible and physical "Wow!" The presentation included some just 'baked' code along with a demo of some very very cool features. Looks like a great thing to look forward to for this years annual post-Thanksgiving shopping trip.
Posted by Jeremy Showalter at June 29, 2005 12:48 AMAs a close personal friend of yours, I'll look forward to receiving my complimentary beta test unit in the mail. :)

Posted by: Jeremy Showalter at July 5, 2005 11:15 PMJeremy....do you know if there is any structure for beta testers of consoles and/or games? I was wondering whether that might be a possibility for someone like Alan (for anyone else reading this, he is a handicapped son of mine).
There is the MSDN channel for software developers where beta software is made available....just thinking that might also be in existence for XBOX...
If you run across a contact person or url for such a thing could you please pass it along?
Are you able to enjoy the area (coffee shops, etc.) during the down times?

I'll see what I can find out. Generally there would probably be more opportunities for beta with PC games than for console games - probably because of the game development seems to be pretty closely tied to hardware platforms. So it's probably more likely for PC games (definitely true for a lot of things out of Blizzard games) so I'm assuming it's true for other developers.
And yes, definitely enjoying the coffee here! Lots of it!
