I have decided to return to Microsoft following graduation to work with the same group that I interned with this past summer. I'm excited to return, although my last couple quarters will be thoroughly enjoyed while I have the time yet. :)
Some good coverage of Microsoft in the FT recently around a PWC survey of most respected companies. Especially interesting is the small note on the role of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.

Posted by: Mave at November 29, 2005 02:39 PMWay to go Jeremy - congratulations! The world is in need of more domination ;-)
Posted by: sorebrek at November 29, 2005 03:49 PMthat's great news. Congratulations !
Posted by: Forrest at November 29, 2005 08:20 PMThanks...especially to the domination quip. ;)
Posted by: Jeremy Showalter at November 29, 2005 09:36 PMThe Dark Side!? ;)
Seriously though, congrats. It sounds like you had a good summer out there and I suspect that you'll have it even better as a fulltime guy.
On that note, if you ever need a discussion on web-based project management, let me know. :)
Posted by: Keith Casey at November 30, 2005 08:12 AMCongrats! Hope you enjoy it!
On a side note, a PWC survey doesn't mean that much to me, I've seen enough of their work. ;-)
Posted by: todd at November 30, 2005 04:09 PMI'll add an e-congrats to the one I gave in our recent phone conversation. Also, a question -- does this mean you'll be ditching Firefox?
Posted by: Jacob at November 30, 2005 05:52 PMNice...not sure about Firefox. Will continue to use until IE 7 comes out. Actually would be happy to switch since Firefox doesn't have the MT linking buttons that IE has...
Posted by: Jeremy Showalter at November 30, 2005 06:38 PMAt least wait a few weeks to switch. The newest exploit code that is out is brutal and there is no patch yet!
Posted by: todd at December 1, 2005 06:11 AMMT? As in movable type?
I'd be amazed if FF doesn't have something comparable in its massive set of extensions.
Posted by: Keith Casey at December 1, 2005 03:43 PMGreat news, you must be quite relieved to be done with the recruiting bit. Congratulations!
Posted by: Le Voyageur at December 1, 2005 05:23 PMLe Voyageur,
Thanks! Saw you at info session yesterday. Hope you end up applying.
Posted by: Jeremy Showalter at December 1, 2005 09:19 PMKeith,
Not sure; it's probably just an issue I haven't figured out yet. Yes, some of the icons don't show up in MT unless in IE.
