MSN TV

I've continued to play with Media Center 2005 and my cable service. I've also been playing with MSN TV's scheduling service - called MSN Remote Record Service, which allows me to schedule from MSN any recording on the Media Center PC at home.

The only issue I have currently is that I'm not running the PC into the tv, since the PC is fairly outdated, so my recording and set-top box is jerry-rigged. The DVR-MS files are good quality, but huge. And I can't use Windows Movie Maker to edit the files. Hopefully this will be better integrated with Vista.

Speaking of jerry-rigged: last night I finally got my homebuilt 'puter to start installing XP. If I can get it running again I'm going to invest in the MC OS, since that's what I built the dang thing for. Unfortunately, after 1.5 hours of waiting for XP to install itself, when the moment of truth came -- loading up the OS -- it crashed. Again. GAAHHH! I could have used that sleep. . .

Oh, and that would be (re)installing XP. It ran great for about 6 months, until we moved. When I tried to boot it up after the move, it just. . .wouldn't. I hate computers.

Sorry to hear it...bring it over the next time you visit. :) Oh and I tend to start the install and then go to sleep and finish in the morning...
