Summer Travel

I might have posted previously, but if not we're headed to Spain and France for a couple weeks with some friends of ours next month. Then my significant other will be studying in a summer seminar at Oxford for three weeks, so I'm planning on taking that time for some further travel. :)

I've been using Local Live Beta for mapping and some of the driving planning and some cool new features were released this week. I actually first read about it on Scobelizer although I had noticed the change on Tuesday.

I do think the traffic information for ~40 major cities is very cool.

Where in Spain? I studied in Barcelona and love it. Madrid... meh.

Yes, a day or two in Madrid, Sevilla, and Barcelona. If you've got any recs let me know!

If it's not too late, I'd shift time away from Madrid and more to Sevilla and Barcelona, but that's just me. Madrid was just art museums. Great stuff, but how much time can you spend in those.

Sevilla and BCN have more varied activities, I feel. Definitely go to Parc Guell in Barcelona; it's kind of out of the way but very worth it.

I don't know how finicky you are with food, but there's a place called Cal Pep down kind of near the water that's an awesome place to go for lunch. Basically you can say, give me what you think we'll like (and you can always say things like "unless it still has a head attached") and you'll get some great food. I'll try to think of some other good places.

Thanks for the recs. Actually we're probably in Madrid for only a day...we got similar advice so it's nice to hear it confirmed. Barcelona will be our longest stay during the Spain portion.
