While I am a few days behind the blog curve, I am intrigued with the possible outcome of the Origami rumors. The NYT has an article on it today. The 'official' site is here. Technorati has a number of links on the subject and this Mexican site has some supposed . screen shots (link from NetworkWorld) from a few hours ago. This is the complete clip... Looks pretty cool.
I think snowboarding cross is the coolest new sport in the Winter Olympics. It almost makes me want to get into snowboarding. :)
I thought I should post on some recent books.
First, a historical academic book Castles - Their Construction and History by Sidney Toy originally published in 1939. The book was a slow but intriguing read. It has rather dry text on history and castle architectural elements but also contains a few good old pictures and original layout drawings from the author - 199 illustrations. A great picture book which I saw while finding the link is Castle by David Macaulay.
Second, an easy read with great stories and examples from Philip Yancy: Rumors of Another World. The book discusses the various areas of life that provide us with rumors of another world, the rumors of a life beyond the physical.
I'm in the basement of the Leeds School of Business at the University of Colorado at Boulder. We've been here working away since 5:30 pm when our VCIC team finished up the Q&A with entrepreneurs. Thus far it has been a lot of fun and not a lot of sleep. :)
Oh and we have code names so entrepreneurs and judges don't know which schools we're from.
Here's a shot of the campus with an x marks the spot in the bottom left of our location. Note that isn't not green here; it's white. Nice fresh snow last night.

I've continued to play with Media Center 2005 and my cable service. I've also been playing with MSN TV's scheduling service - called MSN Remote Record Service, which allows me to schedule from MSN any recording on the Media Center PC at home.
The only issue I have currently is that I'm not running the PC into the tv, since the PC is fairly outdated, so my recording and set-top box is jerry-rigged. The DVR-MS files are good quality, but huge. And I can't use Windows Movie Maker to edit the files. Hopefully this will be better integrated with Vista.
Next week are midterms. I've been enjoying the classes this quarter, especially the Murphy/Becker/Snyder class and Managerial Decision Making. Lots of interesting ideas to discuss and think about in MDM. I really don't like midterms. I certainly won't miss tests...I must prefer projects and papers than tests. :)
Tuesday evening the recruiters came back into town; it's always fun to get to hang out again and catch up. We had a lot of sushi at SushiSamba Rio and also caused the restaurant to run out of mint...as in mojitos. :)
